Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

A note from Sara Axon (Troop Leader with GS Troop # 62007)

Local Girls Scouts of all ages were able to spend a day participating in a Scout Skills Workshop and Camporee at the DRLT.  Because the DRLT graciously allowed us to use their property, we were able to accommodate over 100 people and have the room to participate in activities such as fire building, first aid, fishing, team building, lashings, crafts, tents AND then handle outdoor cooking using camp-stove's,  multiple dutch ovens, tin foil ovens and grilling - using both charcoal and firewood in the fire pit.  The night was capped off by a beautiful fire by the pond - replete with smore's, campfire songs and skits.  Approx. 60 scouts and leaders then camped for the night in tents and enjoyed a warm breakfast by the pond and were packed up and gone by 10 am. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have such a great  natural resource right in our backyard.
